I like both those ideas. Especially the second one. Kevin Towers or Pat Gillick would be perfect in this capacity (although they're both likely to get better offers).

So wait, now you DON'T like Hendry? Man you are all over the place with this guy.

That's not true. I've always said that I thought he was slightly better than Matt Millen or Isiah Thomas.

Wow. Didn't see it until now.

Between that and Schadenfreude, clearly we are on the same wavelength. As unbelievable as it may seem.

Somehow I knew you'd suggest that.

It will be nice to finally be able to change my avatar after the World Series when the sale is finalized.

Yeah, you've been looking a bit crotchity and persnickity.

I think Ricketts will lie low this first year. He's overloaded with long-term contracts, Lou and Jim are signed for the long-term, and this year's FA market sucks. If Hendry can somehow channel 2003, and make some good trades, we might see some interesting new faces, but as it looks now, we're likely to see the '09 Cubs give it another shot in '10.

How does anyone have any clue about what the new ownership will do?
If Angelo had picked McClellin, I would have been expecting to hear by training camp that kid has stage 4 cancer, is actually 5'2" 142 lbs, is a chick who played in a 7 - 0 defensive scheme who only rotated in on downs which were 3 and 34 yds + so is not expecting to play a down in the NFL until the sex change is complete and she puts on another 100 lbs. + but this is Emery's first pick so he'll get a pass with a bit of questioning. - 1060Ivy

You mean Buddy? I hate to be the one to tell you this but that's not a chick.
