I'm not starting another thread for this, but I stole this pic from the WS Dreaming page. I don't think I like the looks of it at all. Looks corny.
Looks like Dodger Stadium. I like it at Dodger Stadium, it fits. But at Wrigley is looks really hokey.

Things like this don't bother me normally.

But this is fucking awful.
I wish that I believed in Fate. I wish I didn't sleep so late. I used to be carried in the arms of cheerleaders.

The blue banner strip around the top would be OK by itself. Adding the pictures looks stupid at Wrigley. What happens when we trade DLee at the deadline?

I don't mind it at all. It isn't like the facade of Wrigley is a thing of beauty -- it's the inside of the park I love.

I read that the banners are temporary, anyway. No biggie.

+1

Wrigley's charm is not it's exterior. It doesn't look like much from the outside.

The view your seats is it's charm.

If they did this shit around the infield then I'ld be pissed.

I guess it just reminds me too much of those stupid US Cellular pictures of players plastered around the OF walls, only in color. I dunno, it doesn't serve a purpose, and looks out of place. I wouldn't mind banners scattered around the ballpark, but surrounding the marquee, it looks too busy.

If it's temporary during a refurb I don't care. If it's permanent, it's fucking hideous.

I also don't care for the "Year 1" and "It's a Way of Life" ad campaigns. I'm not upset or anything, I just never thought that the Cubs needed an ad campaign. People come no matter what.

Right. The ballpark and the culture sells itself.

I should've clarified... I heard it's for the home opener week, so a week and a half then. It's all just a way to increase the buzz around Wrigley for the upcoming season. Whatever. I get it, but is it necessary? No. Does it bother me? No.
