Bradley traded??
I'm glad Carlos Silva is nice. It will make it easier for him to find a job after he gets cut in Spring Training.

-chemistry guy
-nice in clubhouse
-hard worker

In other words...another Hendry special.
Oh, I forgot "works rear end off." That's worth 8 figures right there.

What people are saying about how he wasn't gonna perform here... that all goes back to our dumbass fans though. It was clear he hated the booing, he hated all the negativity thrown his way. But it never stopped. People should've just shut the fuck up and let him play.

I don't like the booing either, but Bradley fed the fire and made things worse for himself here. I swear -- it doesn't take much to win over the douchebags in the bleachers. I sat in the bleachers once when Michael Tucker was playing LF. He joked around and interacted with the fans. Threw balls into the bleachers. Told the fans how many outs there were. All that shit. And he wasn't a very good player. But nobody got on his shit at all.

In a perfect world, Cubs fans would cheer every player -- even when they're sucking. But that isn't going to change. If our players don't want to get eaten alive by our idiot fans, then sign some autographs and don't be a dick. It isn't all that hard.

The only good thing about Carlos Silva is it's very possible that he'll eat Sam Fuld.

Kb said he pictures Hendry and Ricketts smoking a cigar and congratulating each other. Really? You really think they feel good about any of this? Seriously? Or are they embarrassed? Or is Ricketts already making a short list of new GMs for 2011?

That would be a best-case scenario.
But, how many times has a best-case scenario occured lately in Cubville?

They scuttled Bradley. That was obviously all they cared about. Break out the fucking stogies.

Ricketts has owned the team for what? Two months? We have the rest of our lives to hate this guy, let's let him earn that hate first.

And between you and me, if he went to Hendry and said, "Get rid of Bradley, I don't care what it takes", I'd be all right with that.

Man, the Mariner fans are jumping for joy with this trade. Wish we had their GM. He has had an outstanding off season with his buys and trades.

Of course they're jumping for joy. They fucked us up the ass with no Vaseline and we thanked them for it.

Worst transaction in franchise history. Hope the bleacher bums enjoy Carlos Silva and Marlon Byrd.

Yup...exactly.

What?
I'm 100% fine with this. I'm just glad there's an actual plan in place that isn't, "Let's load up on retreads and hope we get lucky." I'm a little tired of that plan.

There was no good ending to Milton's time in Chicago, everyone knew that (though not everyone would admit it) when we signed him. If Carlos Silva somehow channels 2007 and has a decent year, I'll be thrilled. I dont expect that to happen, but stranger things have happened. Best case scenario here is that Silva has a few good starts early in the season (doesn't look like the Cubs face any offensive powerhouses in the first 6 weeks or so) and gets himself traded in May or June for bench help or someone who doesn't make $12 million. Maybe Rothschild and inherently weaker NL lineups will turn Silva into an acceptable major league starter. Or he'll 2010's David Patton, only twelve million dollars more expensive.
