actually, he was pretty decent 3 out of the 4 years with the Twins. He was OK with the Mariner (not worth his contract), then he was awful last year. One good thing about him is he doesn't walk a lot of guys.

Here's my problem. So what if we kept Bradley and he had a bad season next year. In 2011, he'd be playing for a new contract. I don't even think Bradley is stupid enough to not give it his best in a contract year, and he is capable of putting up great offensive numbers, as he did in Texas. Silva, on the other hand, has never even been a remotely good pitcher. We've exchanged a good, possibly great, player with a bad attitude and a bad contract for a bad player with a bad contract who is coming off an injury... I just don't see the logic in it. $6m in savings over 2 seasons isn't going to get us much in return.

Yeah, people always bring up his low BB/9 rate, but the guy gives up a ton of hits. It's either one or the other, and his whip has always been above average.

I wish I was a fan of a real team. This is an absolute joke. The Ricketts family sure is working hard to endear themselves to the fanbase.

Bradley could easily bounce back and have a good, if not great season. Silva? Not a chance.

Fuck me right in the ass.

Someone just posted that he had the highest H/9 rate this decade.

If Silva has recoverd from his injury, he should be a decent 4th or 5th starter. His upside, is a good #3. Not only did Hendry get cash back, but he got a player that could be productive.

I think the worst part, is that now Hendry has saved the money, I wish he still had Cameron to spend it on.
I like you guys a lot.

Sliva's last TWO years, while pitching in the pitcher's haven that is Seattle's home park:

4-15 ERA 6.46
1-3 ERA 8.60

Fuck yeah!

It's funny the way attitudes change. I haven't paid that much attention to this board for the last few months because I don't like to get involved with the 1000 rumors, 7 of which turn out to be true, but at the end of the season nobody was saying Bradley could easily bounce back and have a great season.
This is not some silly theory that's unsupported and deserves being mocked by photos of Xena.  [Image: ITgoyeg.png]

I think Silva's "injury" was similar to Aaron Miles' "injuries." In other words, the Mariners made it up so they could put him on the DL.

I appreciate you trying to find the silver lining, Sipes. But there isn't one.

On another team? Lots of people said he could be productive on another team -- just not the Cubs.

I think he could have bounced back with the Cubs, but he'd have to grovel a lot with the fans/players/management...and that was never going to happen. He wanted to leave and he got his wish.
