That's great... but he's about the dumbest person in sports. And yes, he's still my favorite NFL player.

I totally agree that he's an idiot. Just a silly thing to report on. I certainly didn't know someone died at Sea World.

You're right. Soriano's contract prevented us from signing...oh wait...it didn't prevent us from doing shit. We still signed the Milton Bradley's...we even signed the Aaron Miles's's. We get it. You don't like Soriano or his contract. Don't force squares into round holes to try and prove some point that doesn't exist.

The mere fact that Soriano is on our roster prevented us from making a go at any top notch free agent signed in the last 3 years. It also prevented us from trading for high salaried players like Halladay. You sir, are a fucking retard if you cannot see that. How can you be so obtuse?
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Why didn't Ramirez's contract prevent us from going after a top notch free agent? You're acting like he accounts for 98% of our payroll. The money is allocated. If you don't like where it's going you blame who is spending.
If Angelo had picked McClellin, I would have been expecting to hear by training camp that kid has stage 4 cancer, is actually 5'2" 142 lbs, is a chick who played in a 7 - 0 defensive scheme who only rotated in on downs which were 3 and 34 yds + so is not expecting to play a down in the NFL until the sex change is complete and she puts on another 100 lbs. + but this is Emery's first pick so he'll get a pass with a bit of questioning. - 1060Ivy

The difference is that Ramirez is a great 3rd baseman. He was 28 years old when he signed to a 5 year contract at below market value at the time. He plays a position that takes quite a bit of skill. These two players aren't even comparable. Soriano signed an 8 year deal when he was 30 to play a position that is the easiest on the diamond. I've repeatedly said I don't blame Soriano for cashing his checks. I blame JH for that. I blame Soriano for generally sucking. And I don't know why i have to explain this to you. You're smarting than this.

I know you hate Soriano, but he doesn't suck.
Does he earn his salary? Probably not -- but he doesn't suck. Also -- there are probably three or four players in baseball whose production would actually "earn" that salary. Soriano isn't one of them, but that doesn't mean he sucks.

He definitely sucked last year. I'd be surprised if we see much improvement this year. He was unwatchable in the field and at the plate last year. I agree, his career has been pretty good but he has always been overrated. He's awful on defense. Low OBP. He wouldn't move from 2b until he was forced to. Lou had to pry him out off the leadoff spot.

He was playing hurt last year. If he's healthy this season, he should be a whole lot better.
