<{POST_SNAPBACK}>Im glad to see that in two years one thing hasn't changed. People on this message board do not like Theriot.
Look, were talking less than 1 million from a team that overpaid Bradley last season, knowing damn well he came with a ton a baggage. A team that gave a ridiculous long term deal to Soriano to keep him going to the other Chicago Cubs team that we were bidding against.
I swear that Larry Himes is back dealing with these player contracts.
Theriot doesn't have 1% of the upside those guys had at the time of their signings. Sure, they were terrible, but in the moment Soriano was coming off one of the best seasons by a player in recent memory, and Bradley had come into his own, or so we thought. We know what Theriot is, he's an mediocre ballplayer.
Sure, it's chump change, but if we're going to stop making bad deals, we should start on someone like Theriot, today. Plus, there's no advantage in caving with him. Castro is the future, so who cares if wee-man gets his feelings hurt.

Keep in mind that the Cubs' offer is too much to pay for Theriot. His asking price is fucking absurd.
