I think there's next to no chance Fuld makes the team. Tracy or Millar will be there before him.

There is no way they go with 4 OF's, especially with one of them hurt. The only way Tracy or Millar make the team is if they start the year with 11 pitchers, and the only reason they make the team is to back up Lee, as Baker is going to back up Ramirez. Once Nady is healthy, he can back up Lee.

I'm assuming Tracy is able to play a corner spot.
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

he can, but he's only needed at first. And that's only if Nady can't handle it.
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

I don't know about you, but I wouldn't mind having a decent left handed bench bat on the roster that could play 1b, 3b and OF.

Sure, if that's what he is. But who knows if he can still play any outfield (I seem to recall he was pretty awful out there when he did play, but I'm not sure about that), and he hasn't really hit in a a few years either. If we get Chad Tracy v. 2004-06, then he'd be perfect for this team. But I'm not we've got a spot for him if he hits like he has the last two years.
The thing you need to remember is that all Cardinals fans and all White Sox fans are very bad people. It's a fact that has been scientifically proven beyond a shadow of a doubt. Being a Cubs fan is the only path to rightousness and piousness. Cardinal and White Sox fans exist to be the dark, diabolical forces that oppose us. They are the yin to our yang, the Joker to our Batman, the demon to our angel, the insurgence to our freedom, the oil to our water, the club to our baby seal. Their happiness occurs only in direct conflict with everything that is pure and good in this world.

I don't know, in my world there's no reason to carry Fuld when Fukudome and Byrd can both handle CF. If Tracy looks healthy, I see no reason why he wouldn't be on the roster over Fuld.

The only use we have for Fuld is as late inning replacement for Soriano or Byrd and occasional PR. I would think that Tracy would be able to crack the lineup more often backing up 1B and 3B and would be the primary LH PH. To me, that's more valuable given Lee's age and Aramis' injury history, but I guess a case can be made as to why we need another Bynum or Gathright by someone, especially since Lou seems to love having these types of players on the bench.

Fuld is going to make the team. He has to. Otherwise we have no defensive replacement late in the game and virtually no speed off the bench for late inning situations. How many teams start the season with four outfielders I wonder?

The only way Tracy or Millar make the team is if Font can handle SS as a backup. They then can cut Blanco and the chances for those two go way up. I think that is why they are going to give little Font a chance there this spring. Otherwise it makes no sense since we would have Blanco as a backup.

I will kill if Blanco is cut before Fontenot if SS has anything to do with the situation. I will kill if he's cut before Font any reason in actuality.
If Angelo had picked McClellin, I would have been expecting to hear by training camp that kid has stage 4 cancer, is actually 5'2" 142 lbs, is a chick who played in a 7 - 0 defensive scheme who only rotated in on downs which were 3 and 34 yds + so is not expecting to play a down in the NFL until the sex change is complete and she puts on another 100 lbs. + but this is Emery's first pick so he'll get a pass with a bit of questioning. - 1060Ivy

Yeah. It's a shame we can't transplant Theriot's bat to Blanco.

Now that would be a good shortstop.
