That article is really good.

I don't know Kaufman from Barabas. What makes him a douche?

Anybody with the first name King has to be a douche.

Why would anyone waste more than 2 words on the subject of Neifi Perez?

That article would have been much better if he showed his work.

That was actually kind of touching. Made me think. Here's the part of the article that, to me, sums it all up:

QUOTE How would you like to be that guy? Everywhere you go for most of your life, you’re the best. As a kid, you’re the guy who can play ball. In high school, in the minors, you’re a star. There’s really only one place in the whole world where you aren’t much good, and that’s where almost everybody who knows you, knows you from... the major leagues. That’s life as Neifi Pérez.

We fans buy our tickets and sit in the stands and boo lustily when our team’s current Neifi grounds into a double play or gets caught stealing or serves up a three-run homer in a tie game. But really, who are we to judge? We’re the tone-deaf knocking the choir, illiterates mocking poetry. The player has to stand out there near first base, waiting for a teammate to bring him his glove and cap, listening to the catcalls of people who couldn’t carry his jock.

Then again, the pay’s nice.

Neifi played 14 years in the majors, made it to a World Series and made just under $21 MM playing baseball.

Maybe I'm being a dick or jealous but I'll find others to empathize than Neifi Perez.

Don't get me wrong, I've rooted for Neifi and even attempted to explain to fans that it wasn't his fault that Dusty decided to limit Derek Lee's RBI total by having Neifi bat ahead of him in the lineup. Hell, I've even shared a drink with him and Moises over at Neisi but don't ask me to feel sorry for the guy.

Neil Young?
If Angelo had picked McClellin, I would have been expecting to hear by training camp that kid has stage 4 cancer, is actually 5'2" 142 lbs, is a chick who played in a 7 - 0 defensive scheme who only rotated in on downs which were 3 and 34 yds + so is not expecting to play a down in the NFL until the sex change is complete and she puts on another 100 lbs. + but this is Emery's first pick so he'll get a pass with a bit of questioning. - 1060Ivy

Joe Posnanski (Sports Illustrated) has a good blog post that focuses on this Neifi article.
