No, I did not mean the mass media. I meant that there may very well be some fans upset that Williams will get a statue before Santo, because of the WGN radio guy's push to get one for him. Yes, one of my friends were upset, and a few other Cub fans I have talked to also voiced displeasure saying Santo should have had one first.
Is it a prediction? Yes, it is a prediction. But not one that is so far off base that you can not see it happening. Fans will be happy to see it go up for Williams, but there very well may be a good number of fans a little upset that Santo didn't get his first.

I don't think he should have. Hell, I don't think Santo should get a statue or even have his number retired. He was a great third baseman, but I think that honor should be reserved for Hall of Fame players.

Maybe Santo doesn't deserve a statue. But they can at least scrape together the funds for a bust in the opposing team locker room and the occasional handie from Marla Collins.
