Thought this was interesting. 17% is pretty significant over the course of a single year.

Personally, I believe that playing sports is a privilege, not a right. If we took Babe Ruth's salary and adjusted it for inflation, he would be considered under paid compared to what other athletes make.

But seriously, we now have people with college degrees with 20+ years in the work force having to settle for part time jobs. We have people who have had their jobs exported to China and we are now importing shit for quality products.
When you have 15% unemployment, and those who still have their jobs were told that they have to take a 15% pay cut, I think that athletes and other entertainers can quit their crying.

Hi Destined,

Well the people that know me on the news forums that I have belonged to are well aware of many of the conservative viewpoints that I have.

Well I always thought that the best use for the USA Today was for training puppies or lining a bird cage.
Personally, When I read National & World News, I find the Washington Times or the Wall Street Journal as a better choice for my reading. For sports, I just stick to the Tribune.

Washington ... Times? If you're looking for "news," you might want to stick to the Journal.

I believe that Babe Ruth's top salary, adjusted for inflation over the years, would be for about $600 grand in today's money. Or, less than Koyie Hill makes.

Yes, that would be a bit underpaid.
His slash stats for the year, very late in his career, when he made $80,000:

.373/.495/.700

I'd take him.
There's nothing better than to realize that the good things about youth don't end with youth itself. It's a matter of realizing that life can be renewed every day you get out of bed without baggage. It's tough to get there, but it's better than the dark thoughts. -Lance

No shit.
I'm 100% fine with this. I'm just glad there's an actual plan in place that isn't, "Let's load up on retreads and hope we get lucky." I'm a little tired of that plan.
