Figures. Had a feeling that when I went to bed with them having the lead I would wake up to see this as the end result. Unreal.

Well after opening the season 0-2, I may have concluded what's wrong.

Yes, the Cubs may have issues playing defense, holding a lead and scoring runs - all of which were expected going into the season. Now for the true rationale for the Cubs dropping the first couple of games, it's my TV.

You see I got a new TV in the offseason. It seems every time that Braves scored on Monday and last night, I was watching this TV including Jones HR last night, Z 1st and 2nd innings of the opener and Smardzija meltdown. When the Cubs scored I seemed to be watching another TV.

The solution: No, I'm not planning to take a baseball bat to the cursed TV. I'm slightly more rationale than that. I'm giving the TV motivation to stop showing me Cubs losses. I've explained my point of view to the TV and placed a brick within arms reach of the TV. Now it's up to the TV, if it wants to continue living, it can stop showing me Cubs losses.

Just in case, anyone interested in a slightly damaged, non-functioning, cursed TV?

As a neurotic fan, I feel like every game is a must win. That said, if we can salvage this last game and then win the Reds series, I will feel pretty good going into the home opener. I still hate this team though, either way.

I have a feeling Tommy Hanson is gonna dominate us. He is damn good. This Braves team is actually pretty ridiculous. Their 2, 3 and 4 starters could all easily have sub 3 ERAs and I wish we had Heyward and McLouth batting 7th and 8th in our lineup.

Yeah. 11-4 with a 2.89 ERA last year. 116 Ks in 127 innings.

We could very well start the season 0-3.

If this Braves team wasn't in the same division as the Phillies I would be pretty positive they would win their division. I do think the wildcard is coming out of the east this year, barring major injuries.

I'm pretty sure we won't be swept by the Reds though....

Yep. They're damn good and I had them winning the WC only because the Phillies are also in the division like you said. Don't know why they weren't talked up a bit more. They're strong everywhere in the lineup, and have some good depth with guys like Diaz off the bench. Their rotation is ridiculous with Jurrjens and Hanson only to get better, and if Wagner stays healthy, their bullpen can be too. They're a very, very balanced team and I wouldn't be surprised to see them win it all.

And I agree that Hanson will probably dominate us tonight as well. Regardless of what happens, I'm not all that worried about our offense after this series. Just worried about catching the damn ball and not blowing leads late, which have already been huge issues in the first two games.
