It seems all the hitters in the PCL are getting daily steroid infusions. Iowa has scored 81 runs in it's last 8 games! And they've needed almost all of them to win.

Jackson didn't have a very good July or August. That sucks.

The pitching seems to be a bit scarce at AAA right now...all around. Some of those scores are football-esque.

The PCL is the hitters league of all hitters leagues. All the fields are band boxes. I was fairly surprised at how well Jackson and Cashner pitched there to start the season.

Both Jacksons have been struggling as of late.

Iowa falls into a tie with Memphis. Memphis comes to Iowa for 4 to finish the season. Iowa needs to win 3 to win the division (Iowa loses on a tiebreaker if they split the series).

If Iowa & Memphis split, and Omaha sweeps it's final series, there'd be a 3-way tie. I'm not sure how that breaks down.

should I in any way be excited about Marquez Smith? Seems like he's really hitting lately.
I wish that I believed in Fate. I wish I didn't sleep so late. I used to be carried in the arms of cheerleaders.

Kevin_Goldstein: Not a fluke; not a stud either. RT @Joe_GO_CUBS: @Kevin_Goldstein Kevin, is Cubs AAA 3B Marquez Smith the real deal or a fluke?

Omaha lost and is eliminated. Iowa's win means that their last 3 games at home against Memphis are effectively best-of-3 with the winner making the playoffs.

Daytona was eliminated from playoff contention in the FSL.

Pretty good start it looks like for Carpenter against a good Memphis squad. Hope Iowa can pull it out in these next three.
