That is Archer is 14-2 with a 1.97 ERA for the total this year.

I know it's soon, and I hated the trade when it happened and all of last year...but Archer can really make the DeRo trade worthwhile. DeRosa peaked in 2008, and Archer is just getting better and better.

I hate my pretentious sounding username too.

As quickly as he "found it" from last year to this, I hope Archer doesn't lose it from this year to next.

His numbers are pretty stellar...eh very stellar. If he keeps this up, I would think he would start in AAA next year?? Has anybody personally seen him?

And how old is Archer again? Would be nice to see him and Cashner compete for a spot in the rotation next season. If we can catch lightning in a bottle with one of those 2 and possibly add another decent arm via trade or free agency (salary permitting), we might end up not being so shitty next season.

He'll be 22 next month.

Holy Shit! I don't know why but for some reason I was thinking that he was like 26 or 27 already.

He'll be 22 next month. I know I sound like a broken record, but it's better to have Archer play another full year with maybe a late season call up. Whatever he's doing right now is working for him and he has struggled with consistency in the past. Give him some more time to settle in and have some extended success. As good as he's been this year, he still has a 3.9 BB/9 which is borderline high.

I agree that Archer should have another year in the minors.

I agree as well unless he just blows people to hell and back the rest of the way this year and in ST next year. But really, if only 22, give him next year in AAA and he can be an injury/september call up if he is still lighting the world on fire. But I don't care what level, sub 1 era is pretty damn sweet.
