And I think I asked around before, but is Chris Rusin a guy we should be paying attention to?<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Yes, but I've heard his ceiling isn't too high as a major leaguer. He has a really good chance to be a lefty specialist or 5th starter.

I heard from someone at NSBB that Junior Lake changed his batting stance and it is helping him to see the ball better these days. His BB/K is at 30/72 for the season. That's definitely acceptable, then factor in that the majority of his Ks came in the first 2 months of the season and the majority of the BBs have come since then. I really hope he continues to play like he has and his defense improves. I've heard over and over again how great his arm is, but he is incredibly inconsistent fielding the ball.

I didn't realize Seattle sent Smoak down. Definitely a smart idea.

And 5 hits. I'd call that one a deceptively bad game.

And he still managed to only allow 2 runs (1 earned) without his best stuff over 6 innings.
Not too shabby.

I'm just going to ignore everything that Shark has done this season, because I'm still not buying into his career epiphany until I see him face ML hitters again. When does the minor league season end?

He's going to end up getting a shot at the rotation again next year. Which is fine....

Archer definitely if anytyhing knows how to wiggle out of jams it seems. 0.46 ERA? Wow.
Samardjiza will get another shot, probably at the call up date but I clearly do no have any faith that he can be a major league pitcher with any effectiveness. He is the definition of fools gold.

When Samarzija blows chunks YET AGAIN after rosters expand, can we finally be done with the useless sack of shit? He's a fucking tar baby.

My hope (hoping against hope) is that they don't bring him up in September and his numbers finish out the season looking very nice in AAA. Then there is a sucker out there with payroll room that wants him...but that's all dreamy hope right now. The question is with each and every passing start at AAA, is his value increasing at all, or has he already ruined his value too much in his stints up in the ML?

Samardzija has won me over to the point that I think he should get another chance to start in the bigs. His K rate and BAA is good enough to overlook the walks to an extent. If I had high expectations for next year's team I would probably have a different opinion. But I think he's shown enough to be given another chance after I wrote him off completely at the beginning of the season.
