I have never seen a pitcher perform so dominantly for such a long stretch. He's had like 10 consecutive absolutely dominating performances, 6 of which have come as a 21 year old in AA. If he were a "name" prospect in the Yankees system, we'd be hearing about him daily.
Now, that said, his WHIP has been very good (not great) due to the high walk numbers, and he's only going 5ish innings in his starts (33 innings pitched in 6 AA starts). He's got some room for growing, but he's the best pitching prospect in our system right now, hands down.<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Cool beans...I'll take him.

I like Vanilla Sky.
And the answer to your question is yes. Incidentally, many at the time of the deal said that Archer was the centerpiece, even if he was the least well known. The description of him at the time reminds me a whole lot of this new Wallach kid, actually.

Even though I'm a movie buff, I still haven't seen it. I like Crowe's work, though.
And good shit.

I find it interesting that on other Cubs message boards people have been "meh" on the Lilly deal because they consider Wallach an "Archer type". How is that a bad thing?

I guess Casey Coleman was called up today. Not sure who was sent down though. Pretty mediocre stats from this character: 10-7, 4.07 ERA, 1.20 WHIP

He was the Cubs minor league player of the year last year. He has a good WHIP and doesn't give up a whole lot of home runs. I don't understand why his ERA is so high this year, but I don't think it reflects his true ability.
He might struggle in the big leagues though.
Oh, and Silva to the DL was the move to get him up.

Rough debut for Wallach.
And I think I asked around before, but is Chris Rusin a guy we should be paying attention to?
