I haven't payed much attention to Brett Jackson so far in 2010, how is he projecting? I'd like to have the boy in Knoxville before too long, going on the little that I know.
I hate my pretentious sounding username too.

He's a lefty and is supposed to have quite an arm. He could be a good loogy down the road.

Also, in reference to your Brett Jackson inquiry, he's looking fairly promising. The big worry with him was his plate discipline and so far in 80 ABs he has 16 BBs and 17 Ks. Very good discipline there.

What's worrisome is he hasn't had many extra base hits at this point. It's early in the season though. Hopefully he starts hitting more balls over the fence like last year.

Raley with a nice bounce back start, and Chirinos just keeps on hitting.

Anyone know anything about Justin Bour?

He's supposed to be a guy with a lot of raw power, but unfortunately he has not shown any home run power yet. He was only drafted last year and hasn't played much pro ball yet. Not really a guy to be tracking at this point but I'm keeping an eye on him for when he starts driving balls out of the park.

For what it's worth re: Brett Jackson - the FSL is a notoriously low power league, or so I'm told. So I wouldn't be too worried about low power output from guys like Jackson, Vitters or Burke at Daytona.

Don't worry about Burke. It just takes him 3 years at each level to get good enough to advance. He was in the Midwest League when we got him in 2007, and he finally had a good enough year at Peoria in 2009 to advance a level. He should be ready for Tennessee by 2013 and Chicago by 2016.

Rough game for Rhee. I had really high expectations this year for him, but maybe it was premature. What Liriano is doing this year gives me hope for him to work his way back eventually though.

Also, nice complete game no hitter for Nick Struck. Keep an eye on this guy. I hadn't heard anything about him until this year. He was drafted last year around the 40th round, but the Cubs apparently gave him a decent sized bonus and paid for his school.

If Rhee never makes his way back, McNutt and Struck may make up for his loss.
