8-11 when allowing 4-runs or less. That's scary bad.

What's weird is 2/3 of the team has a batting average over .300. How is that even possible?
I got nothin'.

Aside from the gigantic black hole in the middle of the lineup, this has to be one of those instances where stats lie. We scored a ton of runs in a handful of games, and guys padded their stats. And it isn't impossible to imagine that if you don't bunch up hits together on a consistent basis, you could end up with a ton of stranded runners over the course of several games. Add in the high percentage of runs that we've scored from HR and it gets even more odd. I said this before, but with our luck, once 2/3 of the lineup regresses back to its mean production, even if Lee and Amarmis bounce back to somewhat normal averages, we could be in for more disappointment offensively speaking. This team is just all sorts of messed up.

I'd rather lose with Vitters than ARam in 2011

We need to figure out a way to score first on a consistent basis (11-5 when doing so). Then we will go on a run.

Record before Zambrano's move to the pen: 6-10
Record after Zambrano's move to the pen: 10-12

Obviously, he's having a huge effect.

Last night was only the 2nd win so far scoring 3 runs or less. Very strange, considering it seems that we score only 3-4 on a given night.

The Cubs are 3-23 when scoring three or fewer runs and 22-7 when scoring four or more.

Seems like scoring runs should be the priority. Bench some underperformers. Do anything.
We're falling out of the race.
There's nothing better than to realize that the good things about youth don't end with youth itself. It's a matter of realizing that life can be renewed every day you get out of bed without baggage. It's tough to get there, but it's better than the dark thoughts. -Lance

They also are almost completely done if not winning by the end of the 6th.

There wasn't even a game thread today. It's June 6th. I don't think anyone really believes this team has a chance to do anything.
I'm 100% fine with this. I'm just glad there's an actual plan in place that isn't, "Let's load up on retreads and hope we get lucky." I'm a little tired of that plan.
