Total Speculation
#1
From Craig Calcaterra at MSNBC:

<!--quoteo-->QUOTE <!--quotec-->UPDATE: I have learned that the PED suspension is NOT a New York player. WFAN (and other sources) are reporting and/or speculating otherwise.

10:28 A.M. Baseball Prospectus' Will Carroll tweeted this first yesterday afternoon, and I have since confirmed it with a baseball source: a major league player is going to be suspended for a PED violation, possible as early as this week.

I could not confirm the player's identity, but my source tells me that it's a "semi-big" name, though not a "huge" name. I imagine that, once the name is revealed, we'll have more fun arguing about what being a "semi-big" player truly means than we will wondering why he was not a bigger name despite taking PEDs.<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->

Is this Zambrano? Think about it. Lou said some bizarre things about the rotation this weekend and refused to discuss whether Zambrano would be pitching, or exactly who would be in the rotation when Lilly returns. Z got in much better shape in the offseason and has been pretty terrible. Maybe this is weighing on his mind?

Why couldn't it just be Albert Pujols?

A few posts from Brewers fans on twitter hoping that it's Suppan or Davis

I'll be incredibly disappointed if it's Zambrano. Any Cub in general and I'll be disappointed, but I've been a big Zambrano fan for so long.

Wouldn't surprise me if it was Z.

Those 2 are "big names" CY Young candidates #2 & #3. I'd say Z is a middle of the road, semi-big name.

I have no doubt that they're juicing -- like most (if not all) of the Cardinals roster. They just haven't been caught yet.

I'd rather it be Z than Dempster.

This. We can afford to be without Z for a bit. We can't afford to be without Dempster.

With the way my fantasy season's going, it will probably be Billy Wagner or Wandy Rodriguez.
