He can be. At this point, he might accept a minor league contract.
Are we that overflowing with mid-90's throwing arms who have had recent success as a MLB reliever?

Even though I think he will suck, I still wouldn't mind taking a chance on him. For the league minimum, it's a very low risk gamble.

Exactly which games do you want him getting into? Blowouts in either direction? I'd rather see Berg or Russell get those innings.

You sure as shit don't want him getting the close innings.

How about see if he wants to go to Iowa to work on his control? Right now, he's just sitting around his house and playing with his balls.

But yeah, if he was on the big-league staff, ease him in by having him pitch in non-nailbiters. His ceiling is a HELL of a lot higher than Russell or Berg's.

Why do I feel like Juan Cruz might become the next SOI Andy Sisco?

If Cruz catches on with another team other than the Cubs and is lights out, I can guarantee that's what this will turn into. And if that ends up keeping Z in the pen for longer than he has to be, it could be much much worse than the Sisco argument.

Juan Cruz is destined to be the most lights-out badass with a drying cloth in each hand at a really first rate, full service car wash.

Following Cub prospects is a head-scratcher; who'd have thunk that Casey McGehee would be putting up a 1.000+ OPS in MLB, while Josh Vitters struggles in A-ball?

I hope McGehee is tested for PEDs soon, because I am not buying his current career trajectory, not even a little bit.
