You writing material for George Lopez now?

I've never watched George Lopez. Does he riff on Waukegan, Cubs/White Sox, and soccer?

Before I knew I was supposed to hate the White Sox when I was a kid... I wore a White Sox hat because I thought they looked cool. It's funny. You don't even hear about the White Sox in Southern Illinois. I didn't even really know I was supposed to hate them until I met you guys several years ago.

Butchie used to wear his Sox gear proudly for the same reason back in the day.

Yeah, I was neutral about the White Sox until I met some people here at Illinois. If you are outside of Chicago, Sox fans are few and far between and they aren't d-bags about it.

It was the same for me in Indiana.

The thing is...you grow to hate them. Why? Because you like the guys here and after several years, you feel their pain. I didn't give a crap either when I first came here. But now? I hate everything about them. It's not just an empathetic thing--it now feels completely rational to hate them. They are the evil empire and I cannot imagine not hating every single thing about them. Of course, it helps that they have Ozzie and A.J.
I'm 100% fine with this. I'm just glad there's an actual plan in place that isn't, "Let's load up on retreads and hope we get lucky." I'm a little tired of that plan.

I need to be perfectly clear about something. The Sox, and especially their fans, SHOULD be hated. For instance, just today as I was walking up the stairs I ran into a Sox fan loudly mocking the Cubs for putting a guy making 18 million into the 9th inning role. I managed to avoid my first instinct, which was to punch him square in the face, and scream "why do you give a fuck you cocksucking loser". Instead, I just walked past him.

I'm simply saying I can understand why an out of towner could root for the Cubs and not despise the Sox.
I wish that I believed in Fate. I wish I didn't sleep so late. I used to be carried in the arms of cheerleaders.

If they were born and raised here, they aren't out of towners, I don't care how long they've been away. Everyone of them needs to be tortured and killed, Jack Bauer style.

Me either. Though, through here and places like the comment section at MLBTR I've learned to hate the White Sox and their douche fans (not as much as the Cards, yet.) AJ and Ozzie make it easy, too.

I've met one person up here who purported to be a White Sox fan. He said he was a Cubs fan until the Cubs traded him away. I assumed he was talking about the Cubs letting him walk in FA way back when.
