I would like personalized strike zone to go away. I can not abide umpires who think they get to have an opinion about what the zone should be. I'm fine with them not all seeing pitches the same, they're human but there should be no debate about what the zone <i>is</i>, it's defined in the fucking rule book.

No. I said I'm ok with the fact that not all umps will make the same judgment about where a pitch crosses the front of the plate. I'm talking about them making decisions about what they're going to call that they know are at variance with the rules of the game. Does an ump with a strike zone that's four inches lower than the rules describe really not know it?
