Hanging meatball to Soriano taken for a strike. Sigh.

When I first read this, I thought it was a baseball metaphor that I wasn't familiar with.

Meh, he took a walk and worked a deep count. I'm not thrilled with the GIDP, but it's not as if he's worse.

So could we please get Colvin in the lineup against righties everyday until he cools off?
Hey look! I found some useful information: Byrd vs. righties- 126 at bats, .254 AVG, 6 HR, 16 RBI, .749 OPS Colvin vs. righties- 55 at bats, .345 AVG, 5 HR, 13 RBI, 1.115 OPS And Derrek's been looking curveball on Carpenter all day. That's twice he's taken meatballs with 2 strikes.

Of qualified hitters in the National League, Theriot is 91st and Byrd is 95th in bb/pa. That has to change, with Theriot in particular.
He came in with a .322 on-base percentage, and those are mostly singles. He has just 5 extra-base hits. Now, I want him being his inside-out swing self rather than trying to be a power hitter, but he's completely lost his patience. 7 walks and 26 K... compare that to 73 walks and 58 K in 2008. Yikes.

Theriot needs to hit 8th, all the time.
