Bobby V used to be rumored a lot with our job. I've always been a big fan of his. You at least respect the guy if nothing else if you've seen the documentary about him managing a team in Japan.
I'm not sure how well he'd fit with this group though. I do think he'd be better for the young players than Lou is at least.

If for no other reason, the fact that we have a guy with a .412 OBP and a .900 OPS batting 8th on a regular basis is proof enough for me that Lou has no fucking clue what he's doing.

Players that Soto is currently out OPS-ing: Prince Fielder, Matt Holliday, Hanley Ramirez, Ryan Howard, Chase Utley, Ryan Braun.
Qualifying NL players that have a higher OBP than Soto: Joey Votto. Albert Pujols went into today tied with him. That is it.
Yet he sits two days at a time for Koyie Hill, a guy with a .534 OPS. And when he plays he bats 7th or 8th, in our shitty lineup. Lou needs to go, yesterday.

I'm 100% fine with this. I'm just glad there's an actual plan in place that isn't, "Let's load up on retreads and hope we get lucky." I'm a little tired of that plan.

This. Koyie Hill gets way too much playing time. With the offense struggling to score runs, why would you bat the equivalent of two pitchers at the bottom of the order?

Fast or not he shouldn't be hitting 8th. Maybe 5th or 6th. Lou's lineups absolutely make my head spin. There seems to be no rhyme or reason for it...other than making damn sure Lee and Aram are in the middle.
Personally, I like Piniella...but his fire is gone and his will to win is gone. I see 0.0 harm in firing him over the break and either letting Sandberg come up and see what he has at this level, promote Trammel, or slide Brenley down to the dugout. There are 3 viable candidates right there which would be an easy transition. And you give them, what 75 games or whatever is left to see what they can do. Just see if they can fire any energy into this team. This all is getting way too close to the 2006 debacle.
