They lost Zambrano when they reacted to the Michael Barrett dugout fight by shipping out the catcher and giving the pitcher a contract that makes the ones held by Jake Peavy and Mark Buehrle look like peanuts. The Cubs just didn't know they lost him. I'm not sure if Rogers is on the like or dislike list for people, but I think in a way I have to agree with this. It's in the past now, but you side with the guy in the wrong like that and you know it's going to come back to haunt you down the line eventually. Rogers loves Chicago baseball so much that he spent over the first month of spring training reporting from Florida this year. You know the state that neither Chicago team trains but Phil was able to slurp the Cards while he was there. The guy hates the Cubs and writes as intellegently about Chicago baseball as your average brain dead, comatosed 98 year old. Yeah, the Cubs should have shipped out one of their winningest pitchers and stood behind the Neanderthal catcher who forgot how to hit or call a game.

At least Lou and Stone made up. That makes the summer so much more tolerable.

Dear lord.

Lou Piniella: "He'll have to apologize to his teammates and that's the least that he can do."
How about the entire team apologize to their fan base for sucking ass?

I don't read him or give a shit about him or know anything about him other than he writes about the Cubs. But he's 100% correct that the Cubs made a decision way back then that enabled this type of attitude from Z to continue. If two players can't be on the same team, I have no issue keeping the one that is more valuable. But there is a way to keep a guy who is good without bowing to his will and enabling him to know he's going to get away with acting like a fucktard. Well get away with it at least until he can no longer post back to back wins.

My apologies. You might be right. I hadn't seen the video, just heard the description coming out of the commercial break and only saw the part where he dumped the cooler. It's worse than the description I heard. He may be done. But I'm not certain of that. I think he apologizes. |
