and...?
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

Ever heard of this? I think he pulled it out of his ass. Maybe this went on during a record chase but even then, the authentic balls were marked. The only reason to do it is to avoid the wrath of fellow fans pissed at not throwing them back.
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
He didn't. This has been pretty common practice for years.
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

Yeah, even the "Ballhawks" out on Waveland do this too.
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Ok, now I'm confused. They do what, too?
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

They do what Jon Miller said: keep the real homerun ball and throw back a different one. Len and Bob have talked about this as well.
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
I was unaware that the ballhawks threw balls back.
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

I don't know if they do every single time, but WGN/Comcast has showed them throwing balls back during live games before, and Len comments on it from time to time.

I think I'd have more appreciation for an asshole throwing fakes back on Cub HRs.
