Witness Soriano's throw.

It's shocking that we only gave up one run there.

Why is Soriano trying to take 3rd up 8?
This is not some silly theory that's unsupported and deserves being mocked by photos of Xena.  [Image: ITgoyeg.png]

Jon Miller just stated that some people bring "ringer" balls to Wrigley so that if they catch an opposing home run they can keep it, switch balls and throw the fake one back.

Ever heard of this? I think he pulled it out of his ass. Maybe this went on during a record chase but even then, the authentic balls were marked. The only reason to do it is to avoid the wrath of fellow fans pissed at not throwing them back.

I don't spend a lot of time imagining things that if true, lack a point. And till today, no one called it to my attention. There's still no point. What, to look like you're throwing it back and yet, get to keep it? Weak sauce.

They do what Jon Miller said: keep the real homerun ball and throw back a different one. Len and Bob have talked about this as well.
