It's not Lou's fault we only have one run.

Should have hit Soto for Hill back in the, ugh, what was it when he couldn't get a bunt down? 9th? 8th? Whatever, should never have let a dude hitting .200 with 3 ks on the day bat in that situation. Other than that, his flip flopping of pitchers here at the end was pretty much retarded. But I can somewhat see the logic there.
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Yeah, you're right about Soto.
What a shitty ending.

Out of all the players on the roster I really hate hill. He has no place being on a major league roster, is completely null at the plate and average defensively, how the fuck he has gotten so much playing time is beyond me...
Fuk, is another one that I cant stand anymore, 12 fucking million for a couple of shitty years??? Id rather see colvin go 0-6 every 3 games the rest of the year. Fuk needs to go THIS YEAR. The team will have to eat most of his contract but he has to go...

I don't think Hill is good, but I'm not sure you can expect a whole lot from your backup catcher.

A rookie who arrived in the bigs a year earlier than most thought was possible?

A 4th OFer with no plate discipline, at best.
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
A player with 13 homeruns in 200 ABs and with a pretty solid OPS to this point?
I find it interesting you never point out when he's had a good day at the plate.

The league has figured him out.
Since he started getting regular playing time:
June: .250/.280/.500
July: .250/.308/.450
Unless he can show more discipline at the plate, he's a pinch hitter.

He was still not getting regular ABs in June. If the league is adjusting to him he needs to adjust back just like any rookie. I'm not saying he's the next superstar, but if I didn't know any better I'd swear you're determined not to like him.

I didn't like the pick, but he's already exceeded my expectations. I didn't think he'd ever sniff a major league roster.
But I'd love it if he can prove he deserves to be a starting corner OFer. So far, he has a way to go.

Also still confused why Lou didn't pinch hit for Lilly (100+ pitches) in the 7th and let Marshall start the 8th. Lilly hadn't yet given up his trademark homerun per game, I can't be the only one that saw it coming a mile away.

He's done that quite a bit this season. A couple of times with Lilly and a few other times with Wells too. Maybe the pen was overworked, so he figured why not push him for another batter or 2. At least he didn't do his typical let the SP bat for himself and then pull him anyway the next half inning of a close game. Oh well, I've come to expect these things from Lou.

I'll agree that he needs to work on his patience, but he has more homers/higher OPS/higher batting average than the great Jason Heyward in less ABs. I think that's pretty interesting...
