You're right. I saw $6.5 million for him for 2012, but that's a club option year. Not sure what the buyout is.

I am looking forward to seeing Diamond pitch. Shark is worthless, so to me anyway, it is better that he stays down in the minors. If he continues to pitch well, maybe some team will want him in the offseason, provided that he waives his NTC and we agree to pay a 90% of his salary.

To be fair, I don't doubt for a second that Hendry was basically told to give out NTCs like candy by the Trib since they wouldn't show up on a balance sheet any differently than a normal contract and would only burden the new owner.
