Schwarber wins it for the Smokies with a homer in the 10th. Vogelbach goes 3-4 with a 2B, BB and RBI.


Wonder if Schwarber should start taking some practice in LF...

Wonder how long before we see him.  Seems like he won't need a whole lot of time in Iowa.

Still thinking he will be an early 2016 guy, but you never know if Schwarber gets promoted to AAA soon could be a September call up.

Where is Schwarber going to play? We traded for montero, signed Ross, and have an extra catcher than no one wants to trade for.

Baez hits his first home run of the year and goes 3-5 for the day including a double and a strike out.

 

AA hits his 3rd home run for Iowa, also going 3-5.

 

Edwards also had probably his first decent outing going 2 innings of shutout pitching including 2k's. He seems to be going by the name of Carl Edwards Jr now. 

 

McKinney had a two homer day. 

 

Ryan Williams of South Bend isn't getting enough love this year. He went 6 shutout innings with 5k's. No run support for him though. He has had 1 ER over 25.2 innings with 19k's and ONE walk through four starts and one appearance in relief, so far this season.

Yeah, what is the plan for him? Still only in A ball, which might be part of the reason for his success.

At least its not a worthless signing at this point (yet).
