He did something very similar to this last year in A+ ball before he went off.  I am going to shamelessly plug an article I wrote a few weeks ago: http://wp.me/p4MO5x-b

(If this is uncool...you can bite me.  After you are done doing that, I'll edit this post.)

I like the rolling 10 game sample (a bit ashamed that I don't recall seeing that used before). Is this way of squinting at/ ditherering data points industry standard?

(FYI I'm not seeing SOs on the second graph (accessing on a droid)).

Thanks for sharing the link, Joe. (Glad a got a chance to read the article before you get run out of SOI.)

Also, I am looking for Manny in these tea leaves.

I used to mostly be an eyetest guy. I know that when Manny talks hitting with teammates, it is always accompanied by a particular backhand sweep with his bottom hand. Hitters chat back to him sweeping their own bottom hand outward the same way. My sense is there is some visualization, or tactic to altering a swing mid-pitch as the pitch-type is picked up being reenforced. I wish I was there to look into that dugout for a few games. (1000 dollars round trip from Boston to Camp Manny).

Well FUCK YOU.  I didn't want to be that guy who just came on here pimping his shit every fucking chance he got.  FUCK.

Honestly, I really didn't want to be that guy.  I figured there would either be a good chance to work it in, a few of you might start to pay attention to my signature line or I'd run out of energy and time to do it.  Thankfully most of my move to Miami has been smooth so it has been easier to dedicate time to the site.

I have no clue if the rolling 10-game sample is anything statistical.  It is just something I like because it smooths out single game performances a bit while still giving you some data to trend off of.  And it generally gives you 40 PA which is when SO and BB rates begin to stabilize.

I think we can certainly give Manny some credit in Baez's improvements but the pattern started well before Manny showed up in Iowa.  Although, that pattern is why I think we can expect the Cubs to burn some service time and the 40-man slot this year on Baez.  Get his failures out of the way so he can spend less time adjusting next year and more time contributing to a playoff run.

Huh, weird on the SO rates in the 2nd graph.  It does appear that I had some data not show up on the graph (that spreadsheet is long gone so I can't check) but I can see it on the computer.  Just know that it showed good things.  See if this is any better:

I hate my pretentious sounding username too.

Nobody reads signatures. Trust me.

I liked your article. Quit hiding your light under a bushel basket, sugar britches.

sadly, Olt is right where he needs to be, unless we can ship him somewhere for a guy coming off of Tommy John

I could see an offense-challenged team like the Mariners or KC eventually being interested in Olt maybe this offseason. He still has upside but his trade value will never be lower.

Look, I'm going to level with you; your weird sexual fantasies are beginning to cross the line into the fantastical, and they're affecting your commentary.
