Baez with a single and a grand slam opposite field. 10-game hitting streak. People shouldn't be giving up on him as the top prospect already.

Just in time for Manny to get into his head....

Kidding aside, this pleases me.

I was starting to get a tad concerned about Javy but glad he is turning a corner.

I'm feeling better now.

He's locked in and on fire. This "adjustment" lasted longer than going to A+ and AA, but now it seems it's time to sit back and enjoy the show. 3-4 with two doubles today.

Alcantara also turning it on 4-4 with a 2B, 3B and 2 RBI today. His avg is now up to .281. I think these kids will be just fine.

Happy that the FO didn't listen to the calls to have Baez break camp with the big club. What a disaster that could have been.

Bryant 2-2 with another home run so far today.

With Baez now turning it on and Bryant just pissing on AA, I'm getting a touch giddy.

In his last 44 PA (10 games) Baez is hitting (assuming my math is right) .390/.439/.829 with a 22.7% K rate and a 4.6% BB rate.

In those games he has a 9% HR rate (60 HR over 650 PA), 13% XBH rate and a 13.6% singles rate.

The dude has a little bit of power.  If he can keep doing this, I'd guess he is in Chicago as soon as his BB rate is above 10% for 100 PA (assuming it can get there).

Check it out as I hilariously fail at Cubs blogging.

That double could easily have been a HR.
