Quote:Jim Callis tweeted that when Bryant signs, he'll be the top Cubs prospect..slightly edging Baez. I like Bryant, but I'm surprised that Callis sees him as a top ten prospect in all of baseball considering Baez is number 10.
Is it possible Bryant has the offensive explosiveness of Baez, but without being a liability in the field?

Not sure. Seems to me Baez has the higher ceiling...maybe its the floor that gives Bryant the edge?

The little bit I saw of Maples was hard to read. He had some impressive pitching moments, but he walked several batters and seemed to have little control. Lots of potential, but needs plenty of work.
I got nothin'.

Yeah he is what everyone knew he was going to be...very raw..huge ceiling...very risky. Be nice to see him put it together.

Looks like KC is having him work things out in the pen. Maples hasn't started a game in almost a month. He's almost averaging a walk and hit per inning...not good. He just turned 21, so there's still time.
Meanwhile, P Johnson and Blackburn have pitched well in their respected leauges.

Maples was always expected to be a projected.

Yeah, he's definitely a lottery ticket. I think he has a future, but probably as a reliever. I'd like to see Bosio work with him.

Hopefully Derek Johnson can work some magic.

Anyone see Ace's post? Few whispers of Jurickson Profar in a Garza deal? I'd be shocked...but that would be a very nice get.

Unless we're bundling Garza with someone else, I can't imagine the Rangers giving up on Profar this quickly. They rushed him to the majors and while he hasn't hit well, he's still incredibly young (20). I'll believe that one when I see it.

Yeah I don't see it happening either, but man I would do it in a second.
