I took my 7 year old to his first game yesterday. Told him he’ll always be able to say the Cubs beat Josh Hader at his first game.
We’re also going to Wrigley Tuesday night. Never been to a night game before. Any tips on parking? Normally weekend games we just find street parking but I feel like I saw signs that said that was only on the weekend where we were. We were looking at maybe doing that lot/shuttle off Irving Park Rd.

Night game parking is severely restricted in Wrigleyville so your plan to park at a lot and shuttle in makes sense
Enjoy Tuesday evening at Wrigley

Thanks Ivy. I think we normally park right on Addison a few blocks west when we come to a Sat or Sun game. Am I right in my memory of that not being an option for a weekday/night game?
“The Cubs offer free remote parking at 3900 N. Rockwell St., just east of the Chicago River and accessed from Irving Park Road.”
This is what I was looking at. Hopefully it works.
Just gotta try to keep a 7 year old awake way past his bedtime. Wife decided to do this since he’s adopted the Orioles as his other team, maybe because of the colors or logos. Doing my best to make sure they stay a distant second.

That’s a good idea, but if you’re ok with a short walk there is also a very small but secure covered garage across from the Vic on Belmont & Sheffield that I’ve used before. It’s a little pricey but worth it. Check SpotHero before the game, and have fun.

Cubs drop 9th in a row with the season roster relatively intact - how many games do they lose after the trading deadline? What’s the longest losing streak after the trading deadline?
Yeah, the Cubs could be competitive in a couple or a few seasons. Trading away what remains of MLB talent on the roster for prospects doesn’t likely get you any closer to being competitive in the NL Central next season nor the season after. Free agents understand that the Cubs competitive window is several years away and management won’t outspend to get the best until the competitive window arrives.

Looks like for what Josh Norris at BA says is their 4th overall prospect, right handed pitcher hayden Wesneski.

Ace and his minions wringing their hands about dealing Effross is hilarious. We got a legit starting pitcher prospect FFS.

Lol dude, i was thinking the same thing. Like are we really in a depression over Scott Efross? Lol come on.
In other good news, Hader is no longer in the division, thank God dont have to see that scumbag so often anymore. Sent to the Padres.

What are the Brewers doing? Otherwise, don’t really care much about losing Effross. We need SP talent in the worst way.

I can't imagine how pissed I'd be if I was a Brewers fan. I mean I sort of get it, they have more to work with to get a bat I guess, but they're in first place and the stocked bullpen has had runs of real success in the post season in recent years.

He had a shitty July, but getting rid of your all star closer while in 1st place is a head scratcher.
