Probably not. At this rate I'll just be talking to myself by April 1.

Can I watch?

Only if you film it for us. And help us with the fluffing.

I'm down with that.

At least we didn't lose anyone with much upside today. I like the 3 Rule 5 selections, even if they all just project as RPs. We'll probably never see them in a Cubs uni though.

FTFY at least for next season

Another scrap heap signing.

Nothing wrong with finding useful role players from the scrap heap. My concern is that it maybe the primary source the Cubs have adding players this offseason.

I fully expect those to be the only signings we see this offseason.

This is a bad spot to be in. Aging core, depleted farm system, not committed to pushing for a winner or doing a full rebuild...

Cubs organization and their fans have been in worse situations - recall the Zell years: bad roster, one of worst farm systems in baseball, bad TV contract, dilapidated historical stadium, and lack of management commitment to do anything other than facilitate sale of team. Only required the Cubs to lose games at historical levels for multiple years and hiring of one of baseball’s best to rectify.

This shit kind of reminds me of the Zell period tbh.

Yes, and at least Zell had no plans to hold onto the team for many generations.

Add another one to the pile.
