2020 Team
Quote:They are at least 6' apart at all times.

You sitting and talking in a confined space for 4 hours without a mask with anyone, even 6 feet apart?

I'd assume they're being tested, are more than 6 ft. apart and the booth has open windows. I've never seen them in the same shot, which suggests they are distancing.

Meanwhile, I've been surprised to see the first and third base coaches unmasked. They should have masks on. Anyone not actually running/hitting/fielding or pitching (and I'll throw in announcing) should wear a mask, it sends the right message and keeps players healthy and in the game.

If I'm not mistaken the broadcast box is ventilated, so don't believe it is technically a confined space.

Nice quick overview of Cubs 2020 season by ESPNs Jesse Rogers. Liked the comment by Happ stating Ricketts is making certain team has what it needs from health / safety aspect.

Cubs are off to an amazing start with 18% of the short season already completed. Not at all certain if this club is good, lucky, or combination of good / lucky and playing bad teams.

The bullpen is just plain bad but other than Kimbrel the bullpen hasnt allowed a run in 3 games or more than 1/4 of the season to date. (Love that small sample size BS factor). Cubs offense also appears overly reliant on HR. Believe there are only a couple everyday players with BA > 250 but seems someone on roster provides the offensive spark to get runs across. Probably have the most faith in starting pitching staff despite initial poor showing by Darvish.

Would like to get a better understanding of how Cubs have improved defensively. Which positions have contributed most from the improvement and should fans expect improvements to continue for season?

Oh well. Time to enjoy the success on a sunny day in Chicago

MLBs Jordan Bastian provides a better assessment pointing out the seven-eight-nine spots in the Cubs' order had produced a .270/.357/.460 slash line with a 127 wRC+ going into Tuesday's game.

Maybe you should write a strongly worded letter to Len and JD?

All of this stuff will drive you nuts. We made the decision to let our daughter play with 4 other girls in a mini kind of gymnastics camp--they are all in sort of a pod I guess--trusting their families, all of them having someone with health issues so they have to be more careful than most.

2 hours a day doing gymnastics outside with a coach who's wearing a mask and doesn't get too close to them. But they are hugging each other and not wearing masks and having so much fun.

Holding my breath for the next 2 weeks. We've been really careful this whole time, only driving to SD for a week with in-laws and staying isolated this whole time. We just couldn't make our daughter stay inside the whole summer doing virtual camps after doing virtual school and starting that again this fall. Seeing her alone in her room doing a puppet show or something sort of breaks my heart when she should be outside with friends all day having fun.

Scratchy throat this morning for a few minutes and broke into a cold sweat though.

Bryant looks better at 3b...seems like he's getting a little bit better every off-season.

Same with Schwarbs.

But with this team putting so many of their players in unnatural positions, it's hard to imagine they don't come down to earth in this category--improved over last year but not in the top 5.

"I continue to say it to you guys," manager David Ross said. "We really need Craig Kimbrel to be a big part of this bullpen. We have to throw him. We have to get him innings and continue to kind of judge where he's at according to seeing what the hitters do."

Fine, just don't put him out there in the 9th in a save situation. Put him in when this team trails by a few runs and let him work out his shit in that context. Just keep him out of the 9th when this team is leading.

This is not some silly theory that's unsupported and deserves being mocked by photos of Xena.  [Image: ITgoyeg.png]

Hopefully no Kimbrel in either little league game.

7 inning games should help this team a ton.

That's fine.

It's more than fine by me. We sort of need another LHP out of the pen anyway.
