If we're going down the reunion path, then I'd much rather go after Jake or Archer. Don't expect much from any of the above, but still worth taking a chance. Fuck Shark.
And Pederson is basically Schwarber with a better glove. Meh.

I'm all in favor of taking a flyer on Jake or Archer. But again, what's the plan here? To be slightly better than average, but less expensive? What's the point?

‘Competitive.... for the NL Central’ - seems to be the mantra for 2021
Plus I’ve heard Cubs are having issues selling out the new overpriced premium clubs so perhaps completing a roster could assist with that issue

Butch, yeah I'd seen a few rumors about them taking a look at him. He's been pretty terrible the last three or four years.
Rather try Archer, feels like Jake's got nothing left in the tank.

At least after this Arenado trade, the prospects the Cubs got back in the Darvish deal looks like a massive haul. ?

Trevor led the league in HRs last season! Oops, HRs given up. 6.18 ERA in 2020 and 5.38 ERA in 2019 so there’s room for improvement.
