I mean, if it truly would be a minor-league deal, why not?
Just don't build the bullpen with him in mind and wait for a miracle.

I don't think it's a big deal. Saw wonderful cubs twitter saying he can pay back the money we gave him, because apparently he got hurt on purpose to rip the Cubs off?

Yeah, I'd happily sign him to a minor league deal. The article suggests he feels some loyalty to the Cubs and wants to essentially pay back some of the money he got for nothing by taking a lesser deal than he'd get elsewhere. If true, go for it.

I just don't want to spend months reading everyone's take about how if he ever is healthy Morrow could be an X factor or whatever. Will he take innings away from other minor leaguers in the process? Time to move on.

Yeah, that's fair. The counter though is he signs with the Brewers or Cards for next to nothing, comes back and owns us in a few big games and everyone's take is how dumb the organization was not to offer him a ml deal after all they invested in him.

Appears that the Cubs are hiring a former As and Cardinal exec as head of scouting.

I approve of signing him to a minor league deal. Cubs Twitter is insufferable sometimes.

Background on this hire sounds pretty good, advanced masters from Harvard in stats. Sounds like a big analytics guy.

Sounds like Big Stick Nick won't be returning. Not really a surprise, but he was one of the few joyous things about last season.
