Wow, Strode had been there since 2007.

Not that this really tells us anything new, but all signs point to the front office not opening the wallets again this offseason. I thought Marquee was going to have an immediate impact on the payroll (weren't we told this?). Guess not.

Seems like the FO and the business people have been tempering everyone's expectations on that front for several months now. No surprise here.

No surprise but still complete BS. How have revenues not increased with updates to high revenue portions of stadium along with new Marque deals. Agree that expenses and capital expenses may have increased but all these were well known prior to commencing any of these developments

Lester was a good guy and extremely well respected professional

The spending limit is what it is, I've come to terms with it.  Theo and co. needs to come up with a serious/creative plan to improve in other ways if that is the case.  Not a 2019 repeat.

What Funk said. I'm not looking for the FO to go splurging on all the high-end free agents given their track record in that area. They need to significantly improve the drafting and development of our own players so we don't constantly have to be looking for the next big time FA savior, which is what primarily got us into the current mess. That said, a repeat of the 2019 offseason is absolutely inexcusable. I'm getting tired of every large market team using the CBT as some sort of stealth salary cap.

This is not some silly theory that's unsupported and deserves being mocked by photos of Xena.  [Image: ITgoyeg.png]

Yeah, seems like the big markets are using it to be cheap.

Chris Young to be the Cubs bullpen coach.

Reply
To be clear, it's not the very tall former pitcher Chris Young, but some guy who just got fired as Phillies pitching coach.
Reply
I simply remember him as DLee's punching buddy.

No not that Chris Young.  Or that one.
