Cubs would control Martinez through 2022, so that's good I guess. He's been pretty mediocre for the past 2 seasons though.

I like the trade, he makes contact, if we have DH going forward Im cool with it.

This is not some silly theory that's unsupported and deserves being mocked by photos of Xena.

Wait. Catch me up. We needed a first baseman/ DH?
I am so out of sync with this team.

There’s definitely a need for a bat that can hit lefties including at DH.

So...we're going to need a DH in 2021? Have we resigned ourselves to that?

Of all the "temporary" 2020 rule changes, it certainly seems like the universal DH is the most likely to become permanent. I'm not counting the 3-batter rule for relievers or anything else that was already announced to be a permanent rule change.
A lot of it is that there seemed to be significant momentum towards a universal DH in the next CBA that will take effect in 2022. So, it seems highly unlikely that they are going to go back to no DH in the NL just for 1 year.

You can't create 16 new jobs then yank them away. No way the PA let's that happen. I'm ok with it but I'll miss NL ball.

I have mixed feelings about it, in that I like it better, but I am mad at myself for liking it better.

Andrew Chafin.

Outside of the Ks his numbers do not inspire confidence, but they got a lefty arm I suppose.
Also, the Padres are going nuts. |
