Resident Alien is surprisingly awesome. Alan Tudyk is fucking hilarious in it, and the Sheriff & Darcy characters are great too.

I watched I Care a Lot this weekend as well and had similar thoughts. Solid performances across the board. Felt like things fell apart a little at the end, though. But overall I enjoyed it and definitely worth watching.

I keep reading that it's a neo-noir. Is this accurate?

I would say it falls under that umbrella.

Then I'll definitely check it out. I'm just always skeptical of the most hyped Netflix movies.

I'll be curious to hear your thoughts on it.
I'm watching It's a Sin -- the HBO show about the AIDS epidemic in London in the 80s. Man, it is heartbreaking. The acting is so good in it and for the most part it's just about these peoples' stories and the joy in their lives...which makes it so much more tragic when what feels like the inevitable eventually happens. I highly recommend it if you can deal with the sadness.

A few shows I've enjoyed lately:
Babylon Berlin (Netflix)
Wayne (Prime)
Perry Mason remake (HBO)
Party Down (Hulu)

Took advantage of Criterions flash sale at the end of February. Excited to check these over the next couple of months. (Watching films with a toddler in the household is weird.)

Yup, so bored that I’ve already watched Godzilla vs Kong
I’m here to say I’m deeply offended by the main stream media’s view of Godzilla. Hell, Fox won’t even support the overgrown reptile while all the networks and screenwriters seem to have fallen in love with King Kong. The world deserves a balanced view on both these Titians so fans could love/hate them appropriately. Am I going to have to read 8chan to weed out bias media on this issue?
Regarding the film, great destruction scenes in Hong Kong - wondering if Tokyo feels left out. If you enjoyed Kong Skull Island you’ll most likely enjoy this episode in the Monsterverse series. Worse characters than the 2014 Godzilla movie and more light, less rain than the Godzilla: King of all Monsters so you’ll be better able to see the action. 3 big rounds of Godzilla vs Kong fighting included in picture and a James Bond-ish villain thrown in for plot.
Guessing the next episode will include space monster(s).

I finally got around to watching A Serious Man. I have no idea why I waited so long, but holy fuck that was great.
