A little surprised with the Ed Howard pick. Seems like a good kid, but the bat needs to come around. Definitely a ton of talent with the glove.

Im liking the pick the more I read up on scouting reports. It was presumed that he was a lock for the White Sox but was also linked to the Cubs being a local kid the last couple of weeks. Sounds like a prototypical Theo pick being that he is a good likeable kid, easily coached with a strong work ethic.



Scouted as the best defensive infielder in the draft and to hit 10-15 HR a year. But looking at his workout videos and his old man, has the makeup to be absolutely jacked. Some scouts predict 25 HR a year.



I was hoping to hear Garret Mitchell name called out for us as he would fill a lot of holes for us - leadoff, CF defence, fastest guy in draft (went to the Brewers at 20) but still a good pick for us.

Sure sounds like Howard was the Cubs' top choice from the beginning. Hope Kantrovitz is right. It would be a huge boost to the organization if he becomes a star at SS in a few years.

Cubs just drafted #1 and #4 on this list. Little recently hit 105mph with his FB. Kantrovitz is clearly taking some fliers on high upside low floor types tonight.

Moreno was a sleeper pick on some BA lists, so will be nice to follow his career trajectory, assuming he signs.
