Should've posted it on this thread, but there was a picture on Twitter of their stadium (whatever its name is) minutes before opening pitch. A few hundred people at most.

A long but good read. This would have been great for the entire area around Old Comiskey and probably would have saved taxpayers tons of money. Fuck them anyway, Sox got what they deserved.

I'm glad they didn't get that gorgeous ballpark.

White Sox announced attendance for yesterday’s game was 10,069 vs actual attendance 974 according to Tampa Bay Times.

That article about what could've been the new ballpark there made me feel kind of sad. I mean, fuck the White Sox and all of that, but that is a huge missed opportunity for the city of Chicago.

Homerism aside, it would have been great on so many levels, and not just from a baseball perspective. You can't undo the damage of the past, but also don't be surprised if 10 years from now (after Reinsdorf is gone) there is a movement to bulldoze the current ballpark and build something similar to that architects vision to provide an economic boost to the surrounding area. Before anyone calls me nuts for suggesting this, just read up on the Rangers and Braves situations. They didn't need new ballparks either.

I read an article about this via CNN.com from Bleacher Report. I hate the Sox, but the whole thing felt off. Turns out the game was moved from a 7pm start to day because of the weather and, as we know, it was cold as balls and there was some snow. Oddly, none of that was in the article.

Quote:That seems high. Decent % of those fans are using the various bathrooms to inject/smoke a combination of crystal meth and bath salts.

This seems unnecessary besides being inaccurate (the people part).

They've been pissed at Wheel of Fortune for a while. It's pretty funny how strong their inferiority complex runs...
