Signing a 37-yr old 1st baseman to a long-term deal is a thing of the past. And none of the big-market teams have a hole at 1st base.<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->
I'm not sure how he keeps magically getting older and older. He's going to be 35 in September. I could see someone giving him a 2 year deal.

Hell, I'd be alright giving him a 2 year deal. It's the 3 or 4 year deal I'm sure he'll push for that I'd balk at.

Yes, that would be fine. I want him to retire as a Cub, but I want it be at a decent rate.

If Angelo had picked McClellin, I would have been expecting to hear by training camp that kid has stage 4 cancer, is actually 5'2" 142 lbs, is a chick who played in a 7 - 0 defensive scheme who only rotated in on downs which were 3 and 34 yds + so is not expecting to play a down in the NFL until the sex change is complete and she puts on another 100 lbs. + but this is Emery's first pick so he'll get a pass with a bit of questioning. - 1060Ivy
