Lopez might have helped the Cubs this year but as this was the offseason that the Cubs went back to realizing that they have budget constraints, it wasn't going to happen.
It appears there was a reason - beyond his agent - that Lopez couldn't get a 2 year deal or a even a job before the beginning of Spring Training. Here's hoping that Lopez turns into the Cardinals version of Milton Bradley and pisses all over the Cards.
BTW, any day soon I expect to hear that the Cards signed Calero for a case of beer and season Marlin's tickets.
