Cards sign Lopez - Butcher - 02-27-2010 Fuck me. Cards sign Lopez - Runnys - 02-27-2010 Yep. Not sure how the Cubs couldn't have fit 2 million into their payroll for this guy to be our 2nd baseman. Oh well...obviously the Cubs feel good about a Baker/Fontenot platoon. Cards sign Lopez - 1060Ivy - 02-27-2010 Lopez might have helped the Cubs this year but as this was the offseason that the Cubs went back to realizing that they have budget constraints, it wasn't going to happen. It appears there was a reason - beyond his agent - that Lopez couldn't get a 2 year deal or a even a job before the beginning of Spring Training. Here's hoping that Lopez turns into the Cardinals version of Milton Bradley and pisses all over the Cards. BTW, any day soon I expect to hear that the Cards signed Calero for a case of beer and season Marlin's tickets. Cards sign Lopez - rok - 02-27-2010 I never expected him to sign here, but he would have been a perfect fit. Oh well, things aren't going our way, even in ST. Cards sign Lopez - Clapp - 02-27-2010 He'll kick ass again as a Card. For whatever reason, really nobody else wanted him. Cards sign Lopez - Ace - 02-27-2010 I think Lopez is a good addition to any team, but let's not forget that he was VERY lucky last year, IIRC, based on his BABIP. Cards sign Lopez - Rappster - 02-27-2010 Not exactly a "FUCK ME" moment, Butch... Btw...got to listen to episode 84 today...i couldn't help but crack up when you asked Butch how old he was after discussing his psp. Classic. Cards sign Lopez - givejonadollar - 03-12-2010 I think we missed out here. Time will tell. I know a lot of people aren't all that fond of Law, but given Lopez's salarly/length of salary, and our shortcomings (no pun intended) in the infield, I think Lopez would have been a really good signing for us. But I think the deciding factor wasn't money or production, so much as Lopez is known to be a mini-Bradley as far as locker room issues go. Apparently he's pretty divisive. With Bradley fresh in their thoughts, I think Hendry and crew were looking to escape that as much as possible this year. If true, I guess I can understand why Hendry would shy away from Lopez. Oh well. |
