I'm glad I did, because they are one of my favorites of all time now.<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->
I have loved every phase of Mould's career except the electronic shit. I never saw Husker Du. Sugar was fucking awesome but then I'm a power pop guy.
My two favorite Mould memories:
Workbook tour. Friend drove up 2.5 hours to Topeka so we could drive a half hour to Lawrence to see him. We were told right before he left Wichita that there were plenty of tickets. Got there...sold out. We were asking people on line if they'd sell their tickets for a price... a guy gets off the tour bus and asks us what we're doing. I think he was checking to see if we were scalpers. We told him and he told us to wait right there. He went into the club and came back out with a pair of backstage passes for us, making us promise that under no circumstances would we use them to go backstage. Amazing show.
Black Sheets Of Rain tour. We have tickets this time. Bob's mike is shorting out all night and he's getting shocked on the lip every time he touches it. He never stops to have a roadie deaal with it. He just rages more and more...amping up the show another notch with each zap. They finally fix it between the set and the encore. AMAZING show.

were those acoustic shows?
I saw Mould at Mabels in Champaign. The only show I've EVER gone to by myself. Spur of the moment, and I was not disappointed.
I also saw him at the Aragon, got pretty drunk, then after that show, went to the Metro and saw the Goo Goo Dolls (when they were still cool) at a late show. I was profoundly intoxicated by the end of that one. Only time I went to 2 different shows in one night.
Oh, and Rok? Sugar fucking rocks.

No, these were well before the acoustic tours. I once saw him play a whole solo show sitting with his 12-string it it rocked harder than almost any other show I've seen.
Workbook and Black Sheets tours pretty much featured the bands that he made each of those first two solo albums with. The Black Sheets touring band was great. Just Bob with Anton Fier and Tony Maimone.
