Yeah, see. THIS is why sometimes after reading this board, I want to kill myself.
Tom, quick, do me a favor and show me a time when I said anything remotely resembling "Jim Hendry is a GREAT GM!" (at least in the last 3 or 4 years). I have continuously (and apparently pointlessly) referred to him as average to below average. But on this board, when you take that controversial stand that "hey, maybe Hendry doesn't ass rape newly born puppies", that is the exact SAME thing as saying you LOVE him.
Countering KB's absurd disdain for Hendry is not the same thing as saying Hendry is great. Showing factual evidence that shows giving Neifi a 2 year 5 million dollar contract was not on par with the Red Sox selling Babe Ruth to the Yankees is NOT the same thing as saying it was a great move, or even a move I liked. Saying that the Grabow contract was market value is NOT the same thing as saying it was a Hendry masterstroke.
For example. Telling Ace that according to most metrics, Dempster was not only worth a lot more than he was paid last year, but that he was (according to WARP) the third most valuable player on the team last year (behind Lee and Lilly)does not mean I think Hendry should be immediately sent to Cooperstown for signing him. It means that the stats would seem to negate his comment about the Dempster deal.
I'm not sure how else I can explain that I'm not in the Jim Hendry fan club. I'd actually prefer a GM who pays more attention to stats to balance his reliance on scouts. My guess is that most of this applies to Scarey as well.

There goes Bt, blowing Hendry again.
