Best/Worst of the decade

Is there anyone on the planet who DIDN'T know Bradley was going to be far more valuable to whomever traded for him than for the Cubs? This was a given.
Uh...didn't you think Seattle fans were saying THE EXACT SAME THING? Ie, "There's no way were getting a fucking thing for Carlos fucking Silva. No way."

Instead, they got a guy who 12 months ago led their league in OPS!

Seattle has a good GM. Deny that.

KB, this is why you drive me absolutely batshit insane. You are myopic beyond comprehension. To wit:

Hendry deals prospects for ARam because the Pirates are desperate to unload salary. Hendry gets what from KB? No credit. "Hey man that doesn't count, the Pirates were desperate to unload salary".

Zduriencik deals Silva to the Cubs for Milton Bradley because the Cubs were desperate to get rid of him. Same situation. What does Zduriencik get from KB? Hey, the exact opposite! He's a good GM. All the credit in the world.

More to the point, KB is polishing the knob of a GM who just threw 30 million dollars at Milton Bradley for 2 years. The same Milton Bradley who Hendry was brain dead to sign last year because everyone knows Bradley can't play more than 50 games a season. Add to that he was bad both on the field and off the field last year, and tell me honestly, if the roles were reversed wouldn't you be screaming bloody murder about Hendry bringing a cancer into the clubhouse, and paying an extra 9 million to do it?

I don't like Jim Hendry all that much. I'll be fine if the Cubs decide to fire him. But for Christ sake, all I have to do is suggest that he doesn't molest special needs children on a daily basis, and compared to you, it looks like I'm in love with the man.

BT, this is why you drive me batshit insane. You are making things up out of the clear blue, then falsely attributing them to me. (Although, in all honesty, if I was trying to defend the indefensible, I perhaps would also use your tact of completely changing the subject.)

1. I did not scream about Bradley being a clubhouse wrecker when he was signed. Even NOW I think the charge is utter bullshit, so why would I ever say it? Oh, that's right, I didn't.

2. The best example of a positive Jim move that you can deliver happened 6 and a half years ago. Justin Upton and Clay Kershaw were freshman in high school, Bush was still a popular president, and Brad Pitt was still happily married to Jennifer Anniston. It was long before Sons of Ivy existed. The Dark Ages.
It was a salary dump by the Pirates, and I've long complimented Jim for being a good vulture, so why wouldn't I compliment Jack Z. for doing the same thing?

Who's myopic? No matter what I type, you feel as if you have to take the 180 degree opposite stance. Which is cool and interesting at times; but at other times, like when you're trying to defend a stupendously terrible deal, it looks desperate.

Edit: Just wanted to state that I personally still completely dig you, BT. I even take a perverse joy in your defending of Hendry's lunatic brainfarts, er, baseball moves.
As for Seattle, think about how atrocious the state of that franchise was only a year ago. It'd be tough to argue that their GM has done a poor job.
There's nothing better than to realize that the good things about youth don't end with youth itself. It's a matter of realizing that life can be renewed every day you get out of bed without baggage. It's tough to get there, but it's better than the dark thoughts. -Lance
