what bothers me is that some of our most important players are participating when they should be getting ready for the season. they're risking injury to participate in a meaningless series of games. i hate it.
they should be using amateurs or minor leaguers or college kids. it's not the games that bother me, it's the fact that important players are involved.

Amateurs, Prospects and College kids? That's why Olympic baseball sucked. No star players. Nothing to attract anyone. No one wants to see Josh Vitters facing Kei Igawa in the title game. No one would watch.
I love this tournament.
The team to watch is Canada, because they'll be overlooked. They're freaking loaded.

It's not just money. I adds something new, it's another championship to win. Other than College Football, every sport in America has only 1 title per year. This is something new. It brings excitement and boosts morale.
As for injuries...what evidence is there from anyone getting a major injury last time? Other than Peavy crying that it hurt his numbers throughout the '06 season, I haven't heard anything.
