but thats just it. the players do think it's meaningful, and thats why they could get hurt. plus, an added series of games may come back to bite them late in the summer when players start getting tired.

They could get hurt in ST to though. They could get hurt anytime they take the field.
They don't play near enough games in the WBC to where it actually wears the players down later in the season. I don't believe that for a second.

i think the odds of players getting hurt in spring training are less. sure, it happens, but when players aren't playing balls out, not diving for balls they normally would, not pitching in pressure situations, not running balls out from base to base, theres a lot less chance of injury. just my opinion.
